It's a beautiful summer evening and you want to eat outside or outside-adjacent. And you want to eat hearty. Enter: Parson's! Outdoor patio and indoor seating with windows that open wide. Great service that's timely but not overcrowding. Chicken fried perfectly, not too greasy and full of flavor. Fried fish that is big and flaky: Definitely get it with the tartar sauce. Fries and coleslaw were standard. The potato salad, served warm (like I like) was extremely good, though it was also good cold when I ate the leftovers the next day. The mac & cheese I never got to taste because everyone else in my party ate it all, so that should tell you something. But, my favorite dish was the hush puppies: Big, soft, buttery, and the dipping sauce was EVERYTHING!

A friend and I were in the area and hungry, so she suggested we go to Parson's. This was my first time trying Parson's and it definitely will not be my last. The weather was nice so we asked to be seated at the patio. The place was packed and popping, definitely had all the vibes. The crowd was a mix of families, friend groups, and people at the bar. We both ordered drinks, the chicken caesar wrap, and shared a side of ranch style fries. Everything was absolutely delicious! I am always on the hunt for a chicken caesar dish, and the wrap was savory and refreshing. Crispy chicken nuggets, romaine lettuce, pickled onions, grana padano, and house made caesar were all encased in a large flour tortilla. The ranch fries were solid as well; I could not stop eating them. For our drinks, my friend and I both decided to try out the Blue Dream; Deep Eddy Vodka, Appel's Blueberry Lavender Syrup, Cucumber, Lime, and Soda. It was very refreshing, but we were confused as to why it was not the color blue. Our server was super friendly and helpful, suggesting items to try out and always coming over with a smile on his face. I found the prices to be reasonable as well, especially being in the Logan Square area. The wrap was $13, the fries were $6, and the drink was $10. Parson's is a must try!

Visited this local establishment before a theater evening. I sat at the bar and was promptly helped. I wavered between fish or chicken. I once had the chicken sandwich delivered to a houseparty. Anyhoo, I remember that being good but can't tell you much more about that selection. The bartender recommended I try the fish sandwich. I was good with that selection. In addition to the sandwich which came out within 10 minutes, I grabbed some fries and $3 cheap beer. Sandwich was hearty and fresh. Fries were hot and plentiful. I enjoyed both. I had leftover fries that my theater mate ate on the way to the play. I was fan of this sandwich but on my next go around, will request additional pickles and sauce on the side. All in all meal was good but things sure are getting expensive. Cost me $27 with tip for fish sandwich, fries and beer. Tip: fries come with aioli but charged for ketchup so ask for swap if aioli is not your thing.

TLDR; highlights - amaretto stone sour - perfect eggs - cozy - negroni slushy Let me start by saying that I do not like eggs. But I'd order eggs at Parson's again just to witness how gorgeous they are while being carried through the restaurant. The natural light peaking in during brunch hours while it was still cold outside truly felt like something out of a Hallmark movie. While I still find it odd to be old enough to drink with my aunt, I'm happy she can finally share her favorite places around Chicago with me. Both her and my grandmother have praised the Negroni Slushy from here for years and their judgement was not wrong. While I'm more of a Amaretto Stone Sour girlie, I do have to admit one thing -- Parson's has the drink of my dreams. They also have the drink of my childhood dreams... a pickle soda. NorthStar brine with some sort of club soda is what I ordered amongst all of these drinks, and to tell the truth.. I could've used more pickle juice. Am I crazy for that???

I've been wanting to try Parson's for a long time and am so glad that I finally did! We went on a Saturday evening and had no issue getting a seat on their huge patio. Our server was friendly and made some recommendations for us. I started with a Purple cocktail that tastes like a elevated grape koolaid in the best possible way! Their drink list is extensive and has something for everyone--including a section of mocktails. It was a beautiful day so the place was vibrant and busy, but that only added to the experience. My hot nuggets were awesome! The perfect level of heat that paired well with their tasty honey mustard. We also tried their famous hush puppies which were golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside with speckles of ham hock throughout. I can't imagine anything on their menu being less than stellar!

Finally able to stop by & try The NOT CHICKEN SANDWICH @ Parsons. I heard about this chicken sandwich from a woman that is a rep for Tindle. Tindle is a product of Next Gen Foods based out of Singapore. They are all over Asia & Europe & are coming to the US. I can't remember her name (sorry) late last year. She was a US rep for Tindle based out of San Francisco. She was in town for a vegan food fair similar to Taste of Chicago but only for vegan products. I'm not a vegan but I'm open to trying vegan products some are very good & others were just downright nasty. I want to say that the NOT CHICKEN SANDWICH by Tindle was delicious. I would definitely eat this again
